Steeped in neighborhood lore, they stroll with you beneath dense canopies of plane trees, recounting tales of the modernist Wukang Building, the literary aura of Ba Jin's former residence, and nostalgic anecdotes about the homes of Huang Xing and Zhou Xuan. Through their vivid storytelling, every historic building comes alive.
When weary, step into the Old Film Café. Sip coffee as they share stories of alleyway life and bygone eras. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled shadows that transport you to a Republican-era afternoon. Here, you touch the soul of old Shanghai, lingering in the very essence of Wukang Road.

With the vivid storytelling of Mr. Gaofeng, a true "Old Kluck’’(a term for old-school Shanghai gentlemen) ,you'll delve into the tales of these historic villas and travel back in time to savor the elegance of old Shanghai.
We’ll first meet the Old Klucks at the Normandie Apartments—they know every bit of history along this road. Then, we’ll take a leisurely stroll down the plane tree-lined street as Mr. Gaofeng shares stories of the past. Around the corner of the Normandie Apartments, you’ll find traces of old-world glamour, while the former residences of Huang Xing, Zhou Xuan, and Ba Jin whisper tales of old Shanghai’s grandeur and warmth. The bricks of Hunan Villa and Tang Shaoyi’s former home are etched with the marks of time.



When we’ve walked enough, we’ll rest at the Old Film Café, sipping authentic coffee and chatting with the Old Klucks about how life used to be in Shanghai. The echoes of street hawkers in the alleyways, the neighborly bonds of the Shikumen houses, and the slow-moving street scenes outside the window—it all feels like stepping back into the Republic of China era.

Any cancellation by you must be initiated by telephone/message to +86 15705831034 OR by email to egotriphangzhou@gmail.com. We will acknowledge your cancellation by email.
If you cancel or cannot take your tour as a consequence of force majeure, Egotrip will refund the amount you have paid less any non-recoverable out-of-pocket costs incurred on your behalf - car rentals, admissions, hotel reservations, tickets etc. We may require you to provide verification to confirm that you were unable to take your tour if you request a refund under this provision.
Force Majeure includes impersonal events such as war, civil insurrection, strikes, volcanoes, extreme weather, earthquake or natural disaster that makes it dangerous or impossible to safely undertake the tour. The determination of what constitutes 'Force Majeure' is at the discretion of Egotrip.
For cancellation due to any other reasons (such as illness, change of personal circumstances), the date on which the request to cancel is received by Egotrip will determine the refund due as follows:
If you cancel 7 days or more before the start of the tour:10% cancellation fee.
If you cancel 6 to 2 days before the start of the tour:50% cancellation fee.
If you cancel less than 1 day before the start of the tour or no show: 100% cancellation fee.
