Here, in the innermost chamber of Jiangnan, the waters of the Yangtze seem to linger. They gather in Ming and Qing dynasty gardens, hushed and tranquil. "Gathering in classical gardens, ancient charm dating back centuries" – the winding paths of the Humble Administrator’s Garden lead to secluded serenity, embodying Suzhou’s symbolic grace.

Experience zen-inspired calm through scripture transcribing at a mountain retreat temple. Immerse yourself in millennium-old tea culture by practicing Song Dynasty tea whisking ceremonies, and hand-picking and roasting Longjing tea leaves. Listen to Suzhou's storytelling melodies as pipa strings weave tales of Jiangnan in the melodious Wu dialect... Each activity offers immersive journeys into the heart of the regional culture.
Day1 : Airport Pickup+Free activities

The plane landed in Shanghai, officially marking the start of our journey. Our airport pickup staff was already waiting at the exit to take us to the hotel and help us drop off our luggage. The rest of the day was free time!

Day2 (Shanghai→Hangzhou): Shanghai Wukang Road + City God Temple + Shanghai Skyline+Hefang Street+Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street

Morning: We’ll take a leisurely stroll down the plane tree-lined Wukang street as Mr. Gaofeng shares stories of the past. Around the corner of the Wukang mansion, you’ll find traces of old-world glamour, while the former residences of Huang Xing, Zhou Xuan, and Ba Jin whisper tales of old Shanghai’s grandeur and warmth. The bricks of Hunan Villa and Tang Shaoyi’s former home are etched with the marks of time.


Noon: We'll visit Yu Garden – a quintessential example of Jiangnan classical garden artistry from the Ming Dynasty. Wander through its meticulously arranged rockeries, ponds, and pavilions, originally designed as a private retreat for officials. Every detail embodies the ancient Chinese philosophy of "harmony between man and nature" in landscape design.
We'll also explore the City God Temple, a 600-year-old spiritual and cultural heart of Old Shanghai. This Taoist temple enshrines the city's guardian deity, surrounded by time-honored shops.


Afternoon:We’ll board the world’s fastest elevator, reaching the 118th-floor "Shanghai Summit" observatory in just 55 seconds. Through 18 floor-level glass panels, you’ll enjoy uninterrupted 360-degree views of Shanghai. Below, iconic landmarks like the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center seem within arm’s reach, while farther afield, the Expo Park, City God Temple, 80,000-seat Stadium, and Hongqiao Airport come into view.


Evening:After the trip in Shanghai is over, we will drive to Hangzhou.First, we'll visit Hefang Street. Walk along Hangzhou's oldest and busiest street, which was a flourishing commercial hub during the Southern Song Dynasty.
Next, we'll head to the Imperial Street of the Southern Song Dynasty. This was exclusively used by ancient emperors for ancestral worship journeys. Today, you can still see the thousand-year-old stone-paved road beneath the glass walkway.


Day3:Leifeng Pagoda + West Lake Boat Tour +Three Pools Reflecting the Moon Island+ Longjing Tea Cultural Experience

Morning: Our first stop is Leifeng Pagoda. Ascending the tower, we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Hangzhou’s cityscape and the shimmering waters and rolling hills of West Lake.
We’ll embark on a West Lake boat tour from Prince Bay Park. As we glide along the Su Causeway, willow trees sway gently in the breeze, dotted with pink peach blossoms—a scene immortalized in the classic "Spring Dawn at Su Causeway".


Afternoon: Journey to Longjing Mountain, the heartland of Dragon Well tea. Revered as a tribute tea since the Song Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong even designated 18 imperial tea trees here.
Follow local farmers into the terraced fields, learn to identify the "one bud, one leaf" standard for premium picks, and try your hand at tea harvesting. Farmers will explain the distinctions among China’s five major tea regions and demonstrate traditional pan-firing techniques.


Day4 (Hangzhou→ Huangshan): Feilai Peak+ Lingyin Temple +Huangshan

Morning: Begin at Feilai Feng (Flying Peak) – a karst formation adorned with over 340 Buddhist statues carved from the Wuyue Kingdom to Ming Dynasty (10th-17th century). This sacred site showcases Sino-Tibetan sculptural fusion and features 100+ cliff inscriptions dating back to the Tang Dynasty (7th century).
Next, visit Lingyin Temple (Temple of Soul's Retreat). Founded in 326 AD by Master Huili during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it stands as Hangzhou's oldest Buddhist sanctuary. Recognized as one of the "Five Great Zen Temples of Jiangnan" during the Southern Song Dynasty, its halls echo with millennia of chanting.


Noon:Savor a Zen-inspired vegetarian lunch at Lingyin Temple, featuring exquisite dishes like:Lichens Stewed with Taro、 Oil-Steeped Tender Bamboo Shoots .Experience how minimalist ingredients transform into profound flavors that cultivate inner peace.
Afternoon:Take a high-speed train (approx. 2.5 hrs) to Huangshan. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Unwind amidst mountain vistas before tomorrow's adventure.
Day5:One-day Tour of Mount Huangshan

Today, let's enjoy the beauty of Mount Huangshan.
Mount Huangshan is known as "the most extraordinary mountain in the world", featuring five wonders: strange pines, peculiar rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow.
It has a long history. Legend has it that Emperor Huangdi conducted alchemy here, and Xu Xiake visited it twice and wrote a famous travelogue. If you're lucky, you might even encounter the sea of clouds. The mist surrounds the mountains, and the peaks appear and disappear intermittently, making it like being in a fairyland.
Don't worry about being too tired from climbing the mountain because we can go up and down by cable car. While climbing easily, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery.




Day6 ( Huangshan →Suzhou):Hongcun Village and Suzhou Tongli Ancient Town

Morning: visiting to Hongcun, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded during the Shaoxing reign of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162). This near-millennium-old village is renowned for its ox-shaped layout.
Lunch: features Huizhou banquet in a centuries-old mansion. Must-try is the iconic fermented mandarin fish—a century-old delicacy born when traveling merchants preserved fish with salt. Its firm flesh balances saltiness with fermented richness.


Afternoon:Take the high-speed train from Huangshan to Suzhou
Evening: Strolling Pingjiang Road at dusk—this Song-dynasty thoroughfare retains its original dual water-land layout. Experience a traditional Chinese Jiangnan opera - Suzhou pingtan at Pipa Yu Storytelling House. Accompanied by sanxian and pipa, the soft Wu dialect performs classics like "The Pearl Pagoda," their lingering charm immersing you in Jiangnan's mellow night.


Day7(Suzhou→Shanghai):The Humble Administrator's Garden+Suzhou Museum+Shanghai Bund

Morning:First visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Built during the Ming Zhengde era (1506-1521), it’s Jiangnan’s largest classical garden, meticulously designed to embody the Ming philosophy of "harmony between man and nature" and honored as the "Mother of Jiangnan Gardens." Next, explore the Suzhou Museum, housing artifacts from Shang-Zhou bronzes to Ming-Qing treasures that chronicle Suzhou’s 2,500-year civilization.


Evening:Strolling along the Bund, you can admire iconic buildings such as the Peace Hotel, HSBC Bank Building, and the Customs House. We have specially arranged a boat tour for you in the evening. The Huangpu River glitters with shimmering reflections as boats glide across its surface. On the opposite shore, the modern skyscrapers of Pudong's Lujiazui stand in striking contrast to the European-style architecture of the Bund, together showcasing Shanghai's unique urban charm.

If you cancel or cannot take your tour as a consequence of force majeure, Egotrip will refund the amount you have paid less any non-recoverable out-of-pocket costs incurred on your behalf - car rentals, admissions, hotel reservations, tickets etc. We may require you to provide verification to confirm that you were unable to take your tour if you request a refund under this provision.
Force Majeure includes impersonal events such as war, civil insurrection, strikes, volcanoes, extreme weather, earthquake or natural disaster that makes it dangerous or impossible to safely undertake the tour. The determination of what constitutes 'Force Majeure' is at the discretion of Egotrip.
